Currently Reading: Hunter of Worlds by C. J. Cherryh

I have read this book before. However, one of the nice things about not having a photographic memory is that, after several years, I forget the plot twists and who did what to whom and can read a book again with pleasure.

C. J. Cherryh has invented a powerful, space-faring race. The indigo-skinned iduve make their own rules–the rules of a predator. They show up at a space station unexpectedly, after an absence of many years, and appropriate a high-ranking khallia (a member of a non-aggressive, human-like species). He is now property and will be mentally bonded to another who will guide him. He is a pawn in a high-stakes game of honour among the iduve. They are searching for an outcast who has affronted them, and they will either settle their score with him or simply incinerate the world on which he’s hiding. Stumbling in a cultural mine-field, our hero is a pawn in a very high-stakes game.

I located a second copy of this book so one of them is on offer to my son.
