Traffic helicopter

My current contract is near the confluence of the Don Valley Parkway/Highway 404 and Highway 401, which is the busiest highway in North America. That’s a spot where many drivers are changing direction, changing lanes, merging, speeding up, slowing down, and generally driving with verve and enthusiasm. It’s the subject of regular traffic reports - every ten minutes on CFTR, with aerial surveillance from Cesna Skymasters and occasional helicopters. On Wednesday night, a traffic helicopter was hovering over the intersection, only a few hundred metres away.

Cloud and Fog

The two kittens, grey-on-grey tabbies, have been named Cloud and Fog. That’s Cloud on the left and Fog on the right. This picture exaggerates their differences. Cloud is a little broader in the face, has longer fur so that his tail looks thicker, and is calmer. Fog is narrower in the face, has a skinny tail with about a dozen white hairs at the tip, and wants to shadowbox rather than be petted. Oddly, Fog is the heavier of the two.

Of course, we don’t usually see them like this. They’re often a blur…

Or a bundle….
