More swimming

Oannes SwimsI went this morning to practice my crawl with Oannes Swims, doing lengths and drills with triathletes to further correct and improve my stroke. My kicking is coming along nicely. And I got to try some swim fins. I got a cramp in my left calf. I think it’s related to not eating enough before a workout, or perhaps not having a glass of milk.

Here’s my approximate workout in the 25-yard pool at the John Innes Community Centre::

  • breast stroke, 25 x 6 = 150
  • “kicking 101″, 25 x 4 = 100
  • kicking on back and rolling, 25 x 4 = 100
  • front crawl, 25 x 6 = 150

Total, 500 yd. (450 m)

A body wash instead of plain soap helps me to get rid of the chlorine smell afterwards.

Book staircase

This bookcase staircase makes the most use of space. But I think the books under the steps would get dusty very quickly.
