Kayaking course

I am by no stretch of the imagination a kayaker, but I did take a two-day course last weekend in Toronto Harbour. A kayak is like an aquatic bicycle, very responsive to bodily motions. Naturally, kayaks are more complicated than I thought they were, with lots of little adjustments and checklists to follow. Due to weather and time, we did not practise wet exits and rescues, but I’ll be doing them at a later course so that I will qualify for a basic flat-water kayaking certificate.

It was a birthday present.
